Eadburh, granddaughter of ealdorman Odda of Wessex. The same ealdorman to defeat the Lođbrokson brothers at Cynwit. Married to Beorhtric, Thegn of langehewis, a marriage that benefits Beorhtric more than Eadburh due to raising Beorhtric higher into the aristocracy.

Although an arranged marriage Eadburh loves Beorhtric and enjoys travelling with him while he visits the market towns of Devon. She is an accomplished cook and seamstress and will often help the ladies of the household, including Gytha, with the cooking.

While Beorhtric may have claim to running the show everyone truely knows he’s never go against Eadburh’s will, and as such she has been called the most powerful woman in devon.
